Focus privacy

What is sent
Only after you agree and start a focus session, the extension sends your goal, active page domain, title, description and at most 3,500 characters of visible page text to our API and Vercel AI Gateway (typesafe-ai/jev) to evaluate relevance. Form fields, editable content, URL queries and fragments, private documents, mail, account and payment pages are excluded. No full browsing history or screenshots are collected.
Local records and service accounting
The current goal, score, recent decision metadata, exclusions and corrections stay in this browser. Session summaries and daily active-time totals are retained locally for up to 30 days, without page text or goals in summary exports. Clear local records removes the session and history, while preserving account credentials and the installation identity used to prevent quota resets. Revoking consent stops monitoring.
New session summaries also include local hourly totals, direct and indirect goal-related time, and the longest measured related stretch. You may add, rename or remove a goal label yourself; goals are not copied into historical summaries automatically. Optional labels and next-week experiments stay on this device and are excluded from record exports. These summaries are not uploaded or used for advertising. Earlier records are not reconstructed to invent missing detail.
Network IP addresses are processed to deliver requests and hashed for rate limits and abuse protection. The server stores hashed installation/account identifiers, short-lived time leases, daily usage, and 30-day aggregate call/error/cache/token/latency counts for service reliability and cost control. It does not log goals, titles or page text for analytics. Model usage or actual billed costs that are unavailable are marked unknown, never estimated as actual. No marketing analytics or third-party advertising tracker is added to Focus.
Data use and payments
We use browsing data only to evaluate the active page against your goal and provide the focus features you choose. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, credit decisions or unrelated profiling. Our use of data received through Chrome and Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Optional Focus Pro checkout opens on our website and is processed by Waffo. We store the account association, subscription status, product and transaction references and paid-period dates to activate and manage access. Payment details are entered with the payment provider, not in the extension; the extension does not read card numbers or security codes. Billing records may need to be retained for accounting and dispute handling even after an account deletion request.
Privacy filters exclude known private chat, document, mail and payment services and sensitive paths, but cannot identify every private page. Pause Focus or ignore a site before browsing content you do not want evaluated. Revoking consent stops new evaluation; a request already sent to a provider cannot be recalled.

Optional account and independent rights
Google sign-in is optional and requests basic identity only. We use your Google account ID, name and email to identify your account and restore Focus subscriptions. Focus uses a separate revocable 30-day session; its token cannot access the collector APIs. KeepNest collector Pro does not grant Focus Pro. Signing out revokes this Focus session and leaves local records and subscriptions intact. Contact us through KeepNest support to request account deletion.
